Hi to everyone. My organization, IssueLab (an open access archive of nonprofit-produced research), has partnered with the Hewlett Foundation to create a new OER Research archive -- http://oer.issuelab.org. Our goal is to create a knowledge management center where we can easily share and access the materials and documentation that we all use in our work to further the cause of OER. If you have presentations, white papers, data sets, evaluations, e... [read more]
Hi Tom,
I think localizing eduCommons is a good idea. I did have a plan to do it after following the conference. If I need your help, I will contact you via email.
Nice to meet you, Tom :)
Hi Julian,
Would you be interested in localizing eduCommons into Indonesian? It doesn't require programming experience. I can give you more info if you want. Let's talk sometime.
Thanks,
Tom Caswell
Nice to meet you at the conference, here's our moodle stuff for our INST 6355 class. I'd like to add the mod before next spring: http://instweb.ed.usu.edu/moodle/
The guy I was thinking of trialling the RSS feeds is Scott Karren at hsc.utah.edu
sorry you couldn't make it Leigh, was hoping to finally meet you. Here's hoping you can join us next year (in Vancouver!)
Hi Mike, could we take this to my blog? I'm not sure if discussion here will be as effective... I'm not even sure if I should reply here on my own profile, or on yours... here I'd say... liking Crowdvine.. nice and simple
Leigh, get on a plane right now. Still time for you to make it here before Friday.
@Mike Caufield ....yes Jared is quite the cowboy...
Here is a link to a captiavte demo of OpenSyllabus. http://neumann.hec.ca/gti/technopedag...
Thanks, Jenny! I spoke with Jacques this morning.
Is twitter it? I personally kind of hate when people post their mind dumps in twitter when I am not there, even worse when a whole bunch of people I follow are at the same conference. Kinda missing the 51weeks site from last year, really liked the per-session conf rooms as well as the immediate link to session materials
Lambminster Fuller How do you do?!
Hi Jared.
Let me know if you set an informal meeting on openMod.
Jacques.
Hi Jared,
I was talking to Larry Cooperman yesterday about Moodle, and he's very interested to know more about your openMod.
Jenny
Here's what the twitter feed is supposed to look like:

Hi John, it was great to talk to you at lunch today. I enjoyed your reluctant biking stories!
Lorrie
nice job setting up Crowdvine, already very useful. Thanks!
oh good. the picture is up. now we know who you are...
It looks like people are going to start moving into the technical break-out room around 2.30pm, so if you're interested, come join in. Find Clay, Tom or Jenny if you don't know yet where the room is. We'll be talking about best practice documents and the problems with our current tools.
Hi Scott - unfortunately I won't be attending...Wayne will...but I'd really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you, by skype or phone... (skype: wikirandy) when you get back.... !
- Randy
Hi Stian - thanks for commenting on my post. We would love to get more internationally-produced research into our archive for sure. We do have volunteers right now who comment/review on research but I LOVE your idea to find volunteers who can translate abstracts. Let's def chat at the conference!
Another University of Toronto-nian!
Lisa,
this is brilliant, I have been looking for a good repository of research on OER. I hope there will be an effort to add research in other countries too, and perhaps use volunteers to write up brief summaries of research reports in different languages, so that we at least "know what's out there". I know there is a huge amount of research on this in Chinese for example, but it's hard to even know where to begin reading, without an overview.
Hope to talk to you during the conference.
